Expert speakers announced for The Big Event in Birmingham

Back by popular demand – guests visiting The Big Event at the NEC, Birmingham this July will once again be able to experience a number of expert speaker sessions with a brand new line-up of informative talks.

Find out all you need to know about electric vehicles, Blue Badges, the Motability Scheme and more! 

Making their speaker session debut at The Big Event, Highways England will be sharing their knowledge and expertise when it comes to ‘Driving on England’s Motorways’ and Inside Track will be tackling the common questions ‘All about Electric Vehicles’. Returning with another hot topic in motoring, independent mobility consultant, Helen Dolphin, will tell us ‘Everything you ever wanted to know about the Blue Badge’. Plus, Scheme representatives will be giving an introduction to the Motability Scheme and top tips on ‘How to Get Started’, as well as talks about the latest in Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles and adaptations.

The talks will take place exclusively at The Big Event, across Friday 3 and Saturday 4 July, between 10am and 3pm and will be streamed live on the Motability Scheme Facebook page, for those unable to attend. The line-up for the sessions is as follows:

Held at the fully accessible NEC in Birmingham and with free parking for all visitors, The Big Event is the Motability Scheme’s flagship event of the summer, hosting the UK’s biggest display of vehicles on the Motability Scheme. As well as the speaker sessions, guests can also test drive a range of vehicles, including a wide selection fitted with popular driving adaptations. The event also features a track that can be used to test the range of mobility scooters available and those considering a Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV) can try a passenger WAV test drive.

The Big Event is open 9am-4pm on both days and on arrival all visitors will be given a token which can be used to redeem a free tea, coffee or soft drink at the event. As well as accessible facilities throughout the venue, there is also sensory quiet room and ear defenders available on request.
