Meet James Hunt, the Motability Scheme’s newest ambassador. As a father to two autistic boys, he shares his family’s journey on his award-winning social media page, ‘Stories About Autism’. Now, he’s exploring if an electric vehicle (EV) on the Scheme suits his family’s needs.
James recently went to a Motability Scheme EV Experience Day. He was excited to test drive some of the best electric cars available on the Motability Scheme. He also wanted answers to his key questions about charging and range.
This event was a great starting point for him. He learned a lot about electric cars and how they will fit into his and his children’s lives.
James also discovered what it’s like to lease an electric car through the Scheme. He learned about the worry-free package, which includes a home chargepoint installation and insurance. The package also includes servicing, breakdown cover, tyre repairs, and maintenance.
Home Charging with the Motability Scheme
James wants to explore getting a home chargepoint for his EV, because he has off-street parking at home. At the event, he learned from Scheme partner, Ohme about the support available for home charging.
With Ohme, he’ll get a home chargepoint and a standard installation for his first fully electric car with the Scheme. Home charging is James’ preferred choice. It’s the easiest and cheapest way for him to charge his car.
Public charging with Motability Go Charge
Even with a home chargepoint, James would like the flexibility of using public charging. He learned more about using Motability Go Charge for when he’s out and about with his sons.
This app and card give you easy access to over 50,000 public charging stations. This will help, James can keep his car charged on the go.
