Adaptations in action with Team BRIT

We know how important the right adaptations are in making vehicles more accessible for disabled drivers.

They can transform your driving experience and give you the freedom to travel with confidence. Whether they’re helping you to drive, access your vehicle, or store equipment.

The Motability Scheme sponsors Team BRIT, the world’s only competitive team of all-disabled racing drivers, including Scheme customer Noah Cosby

This partnership supports innovations and adaptations that make driving more inclusive for disabled people, both on the road and on the racetrack.

Dale Groves, Adaptations Manager for Motability Operations, visited Team BRIT headquarters to learn more about the expertise, technology and determination helping disabled racing drivers to go further and faster!

Noah Cosby, from road to racetrack

Noah showed Dale the hand control adaptations he relies on in his Scheme car and McLaren 570S GT4 racing car.

Noah is one of over 60,000 customers using a Scheme vehicle with adaptations.

Al Locke, Team BRIT’s Director of Engineering, also lifted the bonnet on Noah’s racing car. He explained the world-leading technology that enables Team BRIT drivers to compete on a level playing field in the Britcar Endurance Championship.

Watch the video to see how smart engineering is helping Noah, and other disabled drivers, stay independent and reach their goals.

Team BRIT, driven to succeed

Dale continued the conversation with Team BRIT Team Principal Mike Scudamore, along with Al and Noah.

Together, they explored Team BRIT’s journey, from getting started to developing their latest version of world leading hand controls. The group also looks to the future, asking what might be possible for adaptations on the road and the track in years ahead.

Breaking barriers

Adaptations mean more than just technology. They enable independence, equality, and opportunity for disabled people.

Our Scheme sponsorship with Team BRIT supports and celebrates how disabled drivers are being empowered to reach their goals, thanks to adaptations that are making driving more accessible.

Whether that’s completing everyday journeys on the road or taking on the challenge of endurance racing on the track.

Our time at Team BRIT HQ helps to highlight the amazing progress being made in the world of adaptations and the impact that is having on the lives of disabled drivers.

We’re proving what’s possible when innovation meets ambition, and barriers are replaced with solutions.
