Scottish Disability Sport (SDS) kicked off their first National Exhibition Event with a bang and the Motability Scheme was proud to support. It all took place at Stirling University, with more to come.
With around 400 people attending, it brought together individuals, families, and organisations to explore the different ways people with a disability in Scotland can get involved in sport and physical activity. Whether someone’s just getting started or looking for a performance pathway, there was something for everyone.
The event was open to all, including non-disabled people, offering a chance to learn how to make sport more inclusive. The Motability Scheme was proud to be there, alongside some of our partners, to talk about how the Scheme works and the difference it can make. Together, SDS and the Scheme are working to break down barriers and offer more opportunities to get active.
At an exclusive reception during the day, SDS also launched the results of their National Survey. It highlighted just how important physical activity is for all of us. They brought together athletes, ambassadors, policy makers and partners to explore how we can make sport more accessible across the country.
Next up: SDS’s Forth Valley Parasport Festival on 23 September
Is your child keen to try something new or build their sports skills? The Parasports Festival at Grangemouth Sports Complex is free to attend and full of fun, inclusive activities for children of all abilities.
The Motability Scheme will be there too. We’ll be ready to answer questions and chat about how the Scheme supports people to get moving and stay active.
