We’ve recently updated our electric car suitability tool, which helps you understand if an EV would work with your current needs and lifestyle. Keep reading to find out more and share your feedback.
When it comes to choosing a car, one of the most important things to consider is which fuel type to go with. Alongside petrol and diesel cars, there are plenty of great electric options available on the Scheme.
The Government will be banning the sale of new petrol and diesel cars by 2030, and we’re committed to helping our customers with the transition to electric. We want to support you in finding out if an electric car could be right for you right now, based on your needs and lifestyle.
That’s why we’ve made some new improvements to the electric car suitability tool on our website. You can simply answer a few questions about your driving habits and lifestyle, and we’ll recommend if an electric car could be suitable for you.

What’s changed?
We introduced this tool last year, but have recently made some updates. Our new changes mean that we can give you even more personalised recommendations, according to your driving habits and how you are likely to charge your vehicle.
It still only takes five minutes to use, but we’ve added some more information to help guide you through it.
Another new aspect is that we’ve included more information about where you are likely to charge your vehicle, and have linked out to a useful resource for planning journeys in an electric car. This can help you understand the public charging network in your area, and how to find public chargers if you need to recharge on the go.
Please try it out and let us know what you think – this is the best way for us to keep improving and make sure that we’re giving you the information you need. Once you finish using the tool, we’ll ask you to complete a quick survey on how you found it. Your comments will help us make more improvements in the future.
