Woman talking to dealer about wheelchair accessible vehicle

Is a Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV) right for me?

If it’s time to start thinking about your next vehicle or you are interested in leasing a Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV), take our short survey to see if a WAV or car with adaptations is the best Motability Scheme vehicle for your needs and lifestyle.

What’s the difference?

  • Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles (WAVs): These are designed for people who use a wheelchair. You can travel while staying in your wheelchair, or transfer into a standard seat if that works better for you.
  • Car with adaptations: These are standard cars fitted with helpful features to make driving and travelling easier. Adaptations can help you drive, get in and out of the car, or store your equipment. Examples include transfer plates, hoists, driving controls and more.
