What’s happening in the market and what it means for you
The overall cost of building and running a car has gone up. This includes everything from tyres and repairs to insurance and parts. Despite this, our all-inclusive package still covers servicing, breakdown cover, maintenance and insurance with every lease.
At the same time, car manufacturers are producing more electric vehicles (EVs) to meet their sales targets as the UK shifts to electric. That means less petrol and diesel cars are being produced.
As a result, you may notice some changes in Advance Payments this quarter depending on the make, model and fuel type. The Motability Scheme continues to offer great value with average costs cheaper on average compared to other leasing options.
Over 100,000 Motability Scheme customers are now driving an electric vehicle, including charging support as part of their lease. If you’re thinking about making the switch, now could be a great time.

When you lease an EV with us, we’ll make sure you’ve got a way to charge it as part of your all-inclusive lease package.
You’ll either get:
- A home chargepoint and a standard installation
- Or a subscription to the bp pulse network of public chargepoints
Plus, you’ll get a Motability Go Charge card to help you charge on the go. It gives you access to over 58,000 public chargepoints through a single card and app.

Our lease packages includes:
- Insurance for up to three drivers (and this does not have to be you)
- Servicing, repairs and MOTs
- Breakdown cover

How we compare
On average it’s still cheaper to lease through the Scheme than leasing a car elsewhere.
It’s also cheaper overall than buying a used car and getting insurance, servicing, breakdown and tyres separately.

Our next price list will be available from 1 October 2025. Prices can go up or down.
