Six great reasons to attend Motability Scheme Live

Motability Scheme Live is an exciting series of events across the UK.

You might have known it as The Big Event or One Big Day. In 2025, we are bringing you the same inclusive and inspiring events, just under a new name.

Motability Scheme Live dates in 2025

  • Birmingham (The NEC): Friday 16 and Saturday 17 May
  • Harrogate (Great Yorkshire Events Centre): Friday 1 and Saturday 2 August
  • Northern Ireland (Eikon Exhibition Centre): Friday 19 and Saturday 20 September

Want to register your interest? Or want to know more? Here are six great reasons to visit.

The largest range of display vehicles

You can explore a great range of vehicles, including:

  • Cars from different manufacturers
  • Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles (WAVs)
  • Vehicles with driving adaptations
  • Scooters and powered wheelchairs
  • EVs

You can compare options, ask questions, and find the best fit for your needs.

Adaptation and WAV Showcase

New for 2025, this area is the perfect starting point to explore whether a car with an adaptation or a WAV is the best mobility solution for you.

Our specialists will be on hand to offer neutral advice, helping you understand what’s available before you visit our adaptation partners and WAV suppliers around the event.

You can expect:

  • Expert guidance: Speak to specialists who can help determine what might work best for you
  • Live displays: See some of the most popular adaptations available on the Scheme
  • Test drives: Experience adapted cars first-hand (bookings available on the day, subject to availability)
  • WAVs for every need: Explore a range of vehicles, of all sizes and complexities, all available through the Scheme

Nearly New WAVs (NNWAVs): A Great Alternative

Our Nearly New WAVs are a great option if you’re looking for a more affordable way to lease a Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle.

These are WAVs that have been returned early from lease, meaning they’re up to four years old, in good condition, and cost less than a brand-new WAV.

You’ll have a better understanding of:

  • If a Nearly New WAV is right for you: Our team can help you decide
  • New vs Nearly New: Understand the key differences between the two options
  • Our range: A small selection of Nearly New WAVs will be on display in Birmingham, available to lease on the Scheme

Test drive opportunities

Want to see what an EV is like to drive? Or are you keen to put a new scooter through its paces?

You can test different vehicles at the event, either by driving the vehicle yourself or as a passenger.

Test drives are bookable on the day, at the event. Just remember to bring your driving licence.

Expert speaker sessions

Exclusive to the Birmingham event, you can hear from industry experts.

Your feedback from surveys, comments, and recent Facebook polls has helped us to plan this year’s sessions.

Register to be the first to know who you’ll be hearing from.

EVs made easy: See, charge, drive

Our EV hub will be at all three events. Here, you can:

  • See how we support you with charging
  • Try out home and public chargers
  • Get advice from our EV specialists

It’s the perfect place to find out if an EV is right for you.

Enjoy an accessible and welcoming event

Everyone is welcome and our events are free to attend.

To make sure you have the best experience, we offer:

  • Free accessible parking
  • A quiet room at each venue
  • Pre-bookable BSL interpreters. Email events@mo.co.uk to book
  • Spaces where assistance dogs are welcome
  • No music and minimal speaker announcements

Over 22,000 of you joined us at one of our four events last year. We are so excited for you to see what we have planned this time.
