What to expect with Switch: Your new hire car provider

From Wednesday 1 April 2026, we’ll start using a new hire car provider called Switch.

Who are Switch?

Switch have more than 50 years of rental experience and is one of the UK’s most trusted hire car providers.

Switch will have:

  • Over 28,500 vehicles available to hire

  • A UK-wide network with more than 90 locations

  • A fully UK-based support team

They bring strong experience and a real focus on customer care.

What’s changing and what it means for you

Switch will replace Europcar as our hire car provider. Most things will feel familiar although you might notice a few changes when you use Switch. We’ve made these to improve your experience if your Motability Scheme car is off the road. These include:

  • Deliveries at a time to suit you, so you can feel confident using the hire vehicle and understand the hire terms
  • Regular updates during the booking, delivery, and collection so you know when the driver is on their way to you
  • During a booking, you’ll receive the details of your local Switch branch to contact them directly for local, responsive support if you need it

  • If you have an emergency, like a breakdown or accident in your hire car, you’ll also get a dedicated 24/7 Switch Assist number

Supporting you when you need it

If your Scheme vehicle needs to be off the road, we’ll work with you to find the best way to keep you moving. That might be a hire car from Switch or another option that suits your needs.

You do not need to do anything right now.

We’ll share more details soon, including how to contact Switch and what to expect on the day of your booking.
