Dealership showrooms across the UK are now open again for test drives and face-to-face appointments.
This comes after the Government moved to the next phase of the ‘roadmap’ for easing COVID-19 restrictions, which allowed non-essential to reopen.
If you have been waiting to visit a dealership before ordering your next car on the Scheme, it is well worth speaking to your dealer now to book an appointment. Dealers are very busy after reopening and appointments are likely to be limited due to ongoing social distancing measures.
Deliveries for new cars have also been taking longer than usual and these timescales could increase further in the coming months. To reduce the risk of any delays with your order, we would recommend you start looking for your next car and arrange an appointment with your dealer as soon as you can.
Visiting a dealership
As dealers are continuing to adhere to the ongoing social distancing measures, you must make an appointment to see the Motability Scheme specialist before you visit. Booking an appointment also ensures that they can dedicate enough time to help you choose your next car and arrange a test drive for you. Your dealer will be able to fully explain the safety measures they have in place when you contact them to make an appointment.

What if my lease was automatically extended?
If your lease was automatically extended for six months due to the COVID-19 situation, you don’t have to wait to order your next car. You are free to place your next order at any point during your current lease extension.
