We’ve updated the ‘Find a car’ section of our website so that it’s easier to search our full range. Keep reading to find out what’s changed and how you can make the most of the new features.
What is our car search?
The Motability Scheme website has lots of useful features to help you choose which car you want to lease. One of the most popular tools is our car search, which lets you search all the cars currently available on the Scheme.
You can find it by clicking the ‘Find a vehicle’ tab on our site’s navigation menu. This will take you to a page where you can select the type of vehicles you’re interested in seeing, or search the full range of available cars. You can filter your options by lots of different factors such as manufacturer, fuel type, boot size, price and more. This helps narrow down your options before you contact a local dealer.
What’s changed?
We’ve updated this section of the website so that it’s clearer, simpler, and easier to use. We’ve listened to your feedback and worked with customers to make sure that the new tool meets your needs. We’ve also made sure that the new design follows best practices and guidelines around accessibility.

As mentioned in the video, some of the main highlights are:
- Commonly used filters. When you enter the ‘Find a vehicle’ page you’ll see some of the common filters that people use when searching for a car. This is so you can get started more easily and narrow down your options to find something suitable for your needs.
- Simpler search results: Cars are grouped by make and model, making it easier to see all of the options that are available. When you’ve found a model you’re interested in, you can simply click through to find more information on the different specifications available.
- Useful information: When you click onto a car, you’ll see an overview of its most important details, such as fuel type, number of seats, gear type and more.
- Adding favourites: If you see a car you like, you can save it to your ‘favourites’. These will be added to a separate list, so you can focus your search on a few specific vehicles.
Will the other vehicle searches be updated?
Yes, we’ll also be changing our search tools for Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles (WAVs), scooters and powered wheelchairs over the coming months. We’ll share more details nearer the time.
