Hopefully you’ve heard that we’re paying £350 of the Good Condition Bonus early to eligible customers.
We’re pleased to confirm we’ve now started to make these payments, so we wanted to outline the timescales for bank transfers and cheques.
Please do not call us to ask when your payment will arrive – we cannot give specific timescales for individual payments.
Payments by bank transfer
We offered customers the option to receive this payment by bank transfer, by adding your bank details in your Motability Scheme online account. You might have received an email from us about this in the last few weeks, too.
If you added your bank details by 22 October 2022, your payment should now have been sent to you.
You should also have received an email confirming we’ve sent the payment, but please note that it may take a further five days for the payment to arrive in your bank account.
This will show on your bank statement as being paid by ‘Motability Operations’ and will feature a unique eight-digit payment reference number.
If you didn’t save your bank details in your online account by 22 October 2022, we’ll send your payment by cheque instead.
However, you can still save your bank details in your account to receive any future payments or refunds by bank transfer.
Payments by cheque
If you haven’t added your bank details in your Motability Scheme online account, we’ll send your payment by cheque with a letter entitled ‘Early payment of your Good Condition Bonus’.
Cheque payments are starting this week and will continue for the rest of November. We hope that all cheques will arrive by the end of this year.
Please be aware we are unable to advise when an individual cheque will be sent or received, and we will not reissue a cheque in another person’s name.
If you are unable to visit a branch to cash your cheque, you should speak to your bank to see what other options they have available. A number of banks now offer alternative ways of cashing cheques, such as through your smartphone banking app or by filling out a paying-in slip and posting back to the bank along with the cheque.
If you are unsure what services your bank offers to help you cash cheques, more details should be available on their website.
