There are around 4,500 Motability dealerships in the UK, and what’s more, all of our car dealerships have at least one Motability Specialist who will assist you and provide advice on which vehicle best suits your needs. Once you’ve chosen the vehicle, or vehicles, you’re interested in you will need to choose a dealership. To help with this, we have revamped our Find a Dealer tool to make it easier for you to find the information that you need to make an appointment with your chosen dealer, supplier or installer.
It’s important to us that our website works for our customers. As such, before we began updating the tool, we spoke to customers to find out the search criteria that they wanted to help them to find a dealer. Based on customer feedback, the tool is now much more intuitive and easier to use. Users can now filter by the manufacturers they’re interested in and search using their GPS location, so you can find your nearest dealership, wherever you are. In addition, there’s now an option to opt for a map view, so you can see exactly where a dealership is, as well as directions on how to get there.
Furthermore, our research showed that customers wanted more information on the services that specific dealerships can provide. As a result, each dealership now has their own dedicated page with the latest information on their opening hours, both for their showroom and servicing centres.
Visiting a dealership
Many dealerships have now reopened but they’re operating with strict social distancing measures in place. Please make sure you contact the dealership you’re interested in before you visit them; this way you can book an appointment and they can let you know what to expect in advance of your arrival.

If you’re searching for a car dealer, you can also see the names of the Motability Scheme specialists at your selected dealership, along with their accessibility measures. This allows you to see what you can expect from the dealership, and who you’ll be dealing with, before you book an appointment.
It’s not just car customers who benefit from the new tool. If you’re looking for a scooter or powered wheelchair, you’ll also be able to locate dealerships closest to you. Plus, if you’re looking for adaptations you will now be able to search across multiple adaptations to see which installers you’d be best placed to contact.
Those looking for a Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV) can now filter by passenger, Drive from, or Nearly New WAVs, so you only see the WAV suppliers who offer the types of vehicles you’re looking for. Don’t forget that all our WAV suppliers offer a no obligation, nationwide service. So, don’t be deterred from contacting the supplier who provides your preferred WAV, even if they’re many miles away they’ll still come to you.
One of the best features of the new Find a Dealer tool is that it’s integrated into our Car Search. So, once you’ve found the car or WAV that you’re interested in, you’ll have the option to see detailed information on your nearest dealership that can supply that vehicle.
