The Big Event moves online for 2021

This year the Big Event will be moving online, allowing customers to experience all the fun, and information, from the comfort of their own homes this summer. Read more about this below.

With Covid-19 restrictions affecting arrangements for large exhibitions this year, we are delighted to bring all the information, as well as much of the fun, of the real-life event for visitors – without the need to travel.

Covid-19 Government guidance, and the uncertainty regarding future restrictions, mean that we have sadly made the decision to cancel all physical events for this year, this includes The Big Event and all regional One Big Day’s. The safety and wellbeing of our customers, employees and Scheme partners are our key priorities, and in the current environment, with social distancing expected to be a fact of life possibly through to the autumn, these busy events can’t take place in the same way.

Planning for the One Big Day program normally starts at least a year ahead of the first dates, and owing to the uncertainties of the pandemic, it’s not been possible for us to plan for all eventualities so far in advance.

Moving online

For those keen to find out more about what the Scheme has to offer, including advice on adaptations, new car makes and models, and powered wheelchairs and scooters, the good news is that on Friday 6 and Saturday 7 August 2021, the Scheme will host a virtual version of The Big Event. In this ‘new normal’ world, we still want to try and give customers and their families a fun and information-packed way to learn more about the Scheme’s worry-free motoring package.

On both days, The Big Event will offer disabled people and their families a great way to find out more about leasing a car, WAV, powered wheelchair or scooter through the Scheme from the comfort and safety of their own homes.

Registered visitors can look forward to online displays of the vehicles available on the Scheme, and our expert Speaker Sessions will provide helpful information to online audiences. Visitors will also be able to speak to all exhibitors through live chat on the day, as well as Motability Scheme advisors and partners.

The future

The good news is that we expect all our live events to be back up and running in full in 2022.

Meanwhile, more details about the online event including how to register, will be shared soon, here on the our website and our Facebook and Twitter channels, stay tuned!
