Since March 2020, Covid-19 restrictions have led to reduced use by customers of their Scheme cars. This has led to lower insurance claims, and less wear and tear. As a result, during 2020 and 2021, we sent two £50 rebates to customers. We are pleased to say that we will now be able to share a third £60 rebate with customers who joined the Scheme before 18 July 2021.
Payments will start on 24 January 2022 for customers who have given us their bank details in their Motability Scheme online account, and from mid-February for all other customers.
Many customers prefer to receive their payments by bank transfer. Not only is this is the quickest way to receive payments, it’s also easier than having to physically cash a cheque.

If you don’t yet have an online account you can set one up at myaccount.motabilityoperations.co.uk and update your payment details in the ‘Personal details’ section of the account.
Please be reassured we will only ever use your bank details to make payments or refunds to you, and your details will be encrypted and held securely once you save them in your account.
Although the quickest way to receive this payment is by bank transfer, if you are not able to provide us with your bank details, we will still make this payment to you by sending a cheque. However, this will take a little longer to reach you.
There is no need to contact us to let us know whether you would like to receive this payment by bank transfer or by cheque. If you have updated your bank details in your online account by 23 January 2022 we will automatically make the payment by bank transfer. If we don’t have your bank details by this date we will automatically make the payment by cheque.
Although bank transfer payments will begin on 24 January 2022 and are expected to take around 2 weeks to complete, unfortunately we can’t tell you exactly when you will receive the payment.
Cheques will be sent out from mid-February and are expected to take until the end of March 2022 to complete. We can’t pay cheques early, so please don’t contact us by phone to request this.
What do I need to do now?
If you have a Motability Scheme online account, you can check whether we have your bank details by signing in to your account.
Your payment details, where you can check, update or add your bank details, can be found in the ‘Personal details’ section of the account.
If you do not currently have a Motability Scheme online account, you can set one up at myaccount.motabilityoperations.co.uk
Don’t forget to add your bank details to your online account by 23 January 2022 to receive the payment by bank transfer, after this date payments will be made by cheque.
